How should I begin? You have now set the standard for my Twin Cities dining! Last night’s return visit to Chateau Lamothe was sheer dining elegance. And for Doris to greet Emma & I at the door with a comforting smile and a warm hug, that truly set the tone for the evening and it meant so much to us. (I have yet to receive that kind of welcome at any of NYC’s finest restaurants.) And then, the chilled bottle of champagne waiting on the table, that too was such a special thought. Thank you! What a delightful evening. As I am getting to know Emma more and more, we both feel totally relaxed sitting fireside enjoying everything we could ever hope for in a intimate dining setting. You are the best! Best food, best service, best everything. Please draft up the adoption papers. Emma & I are going to become not only regulars, but part of your family. See you in two weeks. (Maybe she & I will go for a candlelit table in the corner next time.) Take care and God bless you.

Over the years, my copilot & I have dined at some of the finest restaurants in the country. We are constantly searching for the best. Add your name to that list!! Two weeks ago today, I took a long-time friend out to dinner. She & I have know each other for 8 years and had not gone out on a date until that evening. At her suggestion, we chose Chateau Lamothe. Neither one of us had been there before. We were seated next to the fireplace, which was perfect for a “1st date!” Taking in the atmosphere of the restaurant, we felt totally welcomed by the décor as well as the staff.

We split the Spinach-Gorgonzola Salad, which was outstanding. Also an excellent complement to the remaining champagne. I have never seen a “salad-in-a-glass” before. Nice touch! Taking our time, enjoying a slow, relaxing evening, we finally ordered dinner – Beef Wellington and Blackened Catfish. I must say that although I have not had beef wellington in several years, it just does not get any better than the one brought to me that evening. It was prepared medium-rare to perfection! And my date raved about the catfish. She gave me a sample, and she was absolutely right!

Don’t know how, but we split a dessert. The French Puff. That too was delicious, and a wonderful way to end an exquisite 4-hour evening at Chateau Lamothe. You have truly made an lasting impression. My date & I are planning on returning this coming Thursday evening.

It was year ago this past weekend that you catered for us at our wedding. Last night we unwrapped the cake you made for us a year ago and oh my was it good! A year ago, my mom rested the cake on the cover of an ice cream bucket and we wrapped the bucket with freezer wrap paper. Delicious, no sign of age what so ever! The two love birds looked great and the fancy icing looked like the day you made it. Even the filling is fresh tasting. We has such a great time that day and everything was wonderful.
